Dr. Apostol Panayotov has more than 25 years international experience in numerous aspects of the geospatial and business sectors, to include, conducting scientific research on cutting edge equipment and software solutions, development of enterprise GIS systems, and developing business plans.
Dr. Panayotov have held positions as a Geodetic Engineer, GIS Manager, and Geospatial consultant. Concerning geospatial matters, advised a multitude of organizations, such as Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Denver International Airport (DEN), Chingis Han International Airport, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, MonMap and supervised and managed multiple geodetic, surveying, UAV, 3D and GIS projects.
He helped numerous surveying and engineering companies to implement UAV, LIDAR and terrestrial scanning, custom GIS systems and automated their workflow. As Geospatial Consultant he is collaborating with all members of an organization to resolve equipment issues, devise business solutions, develop training and educational materials and provide staff training. He is Instrumental in streamlining and improving processes, enhancing productivity, and implementing technology solutions. Dr. Panayotov hold position as Assistant Research Professor at University of Colorado Denver. There, he has been teaching Surveying, Terrestrial Scanning, LIDAR, UAV and other Geomatics classes and practical labs to graduate and PhD students. His research interests are in the area of Geodesy, GNSS, UAV and Terrestrial and LIDAR data capture and processing.
