Predictive Fabrication

The maturity of BIM in the world marketplace is growing and the first projects using only a model for approval and construction are underway. No longer are these models turned into a simplistic 2D extractions, the model itself will be the new standard of care in design, construction, and operation. The benefit here will not be realized simply by using 3D to open up a deeper understanding of the project's expected outcome, the 4th dimension of time during construction is needed to speed up delivery and increase safety. When we communicate in 4D we enable a construction timeline phase-shift powered by offsite fabrication, onsite predictability, and eventually the rise of the robotic workforce. If we can impart a predictive understanding of the construction site using a digital twin to fabricate and assemble, we can solve construction productivity. In this session we will explore important trends pushing this type of 4D project planning, how it can be managed today to make a real difference onsite, and where this can take us into the future.

Implementing Transformative AECO Processes

Designing in our current time with Renaissance developed processes and mindsets is perhaps the biggest hurdle to navigate when implementing new processes and technologies... This session will explore the opportunities available via transforming one's project, team and/or firm into efficient A-Team, symphony-like teams; possible limitations and solutions for growing not only efficiencies ($$$) but also growing service opportunities differentiated from the masses... Can you say competitive edge?! See you there and we'll find out...
