How a Small General Contractor Utilized BIM Technologies
10:30 AM - 10:45 AM
Through this presentation we will talk about the journey our BIM team has gone through over the years with a small/medium sized general contractor. Where we started with only 1 person and now 5 years later, we are at 7 strong with over a $1 million budget. This will lead into how we use multiple forms of software programs and how we use them on projects. Some projects use everything our team can produce and others use only one or two of the available options. The software we will show the interoperability of will be the Autdesk AEC collection, BloomCE scanning software, Fuzor, Enscape, Assemble systems, PowerBi and dRofus. Hardware will include the Leica BLK360 scanner, drones and the HTC Vive VR system. We will go through how our team works closely with our estimating, survey, and operations team in pulling and pushing data in and out of the models. We will show the use of these technologies and the different levels of use across multiple projects varying from $3M to $150M.
Digitized Management of Asset Lifecycle by Implementing BIM During the Full Life Cycle Stages
10:45 AM - 11:00 AM
- Process of transformation towards digital asset management, by implementing the BIM processes to deliver an integrated sustainable transportation system, - The main controls in developing the successful BIM implementation process - The implementation plan to meet the technology and interoperability challenges included to establish an open collaborative working environment and assessing how the supply chain would share information during the project's life cycle stages - Utilizing a single integrated asset management system to develop sustainable & cost-effective outcomes - The importance of achieving seamless integration between CAPEX and OPEX solutions

A BIM Vision to Transform Water Reclamation Facilities Operations at MMSD
11:00 AM - 11:15 AM
In an effort to improve decision making, support efficient access to information and improve emergency response, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) developed a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Vision for its Water Reclamation Facilities (WRF). MMSD planned out a multi-year phased approach to create a scalable and maintainable BIM solution for sharing WRF asset, facility, and equipment data. In 2018-2019 MMSD implemented a pilot BIM with consulting team KFA, Inc. for an Effluent Pump Station. The pilot project work included development of a BIM Execution Plan, point cloud data acquisition and post-processing, creation of a 3D model of assets and structures, system integration of related documents and databases, and development of an interactive 3D site viewer for MMSD staff and stakeholders to view and use the BIM. MMSD and partner consultant KFA, Inc. will present the pilot project tasks completed to meet the MMSD BIM Vision, as well as user feedback, ROI, and lessons learned.

Leveraging BIM Workflows for Advanced Construction Processes
11:15 AM -11:30 AM
BIM processes are changing rapidly with new emerging technologies. this effects our workflow and and changing the way we do businesses. Presentation will focus on how to advance the way we work on the projects using BIM tools and explore the possibilities buy asking what is next. implementing advanced, smart, lean, efficient BIM workflows is a key component for a successful project. presentation will focus, how to set up a BIM process in a project which can lead to success throughout the life cycle of the facility. Presentation will also focus on how we can advance new technologies such as cloud based systems, smart building IoT, automation and AI in construction.
